- Organise off the wall games to play during the reception, such as egg and spoon races and three legged races or even good old fashioned charades – a great way for guests to mix with each other too
- Instead of Doves or a butterfly release, give each guest a balloon in your theme colours and these can be released at the end of the ceremony.
- Ask creative friends to each make a centre piece to reflect the colours and theme you have chosen
- Instead of a traditional guest book, leave a bowl in the centre of each table and ask guests to drop their messages in them.
- During the meal, speeches or toasts, ask your guests to stand up and kiss the person on either side of them – it’s a great ice breaker and a celebration of love!
- Collect empty jars and then use them to scatter t-light candles along pathways, on tables or even hanging outside.
- If you have talented friends ask them to sing at your wedding ceremony or during drinks.
- Have fun making a cake of your own – it may not look as good as a professionals, but it would be a great talking point for the day and for years to come.
- Make your own place settings, using fruit, conkers, stones, pine cones or anything else that takes your fancy.
